CONUNDRUM R&D
ARCOLA THEATRE · OCTOBER 2017
CONUNDRUM SYNOPSIS
Written and directed Paul Anthony Morris
Fidel has been drifting between careers and enduring frequent periods of existential depression despite possessing an exceptional IQ. It is after his most recent discharge that Fidel resorts to selective mutism in order to identify where his greatest battle for self worth lies. Seduced initially into critiquing society Fidel soon discovers, much to his horror, that he is also partly responsible for perpetuating his own demise. Perplexed by this conundrum Fidel brings an end to his self imposed silence and embarks upon an extraordinary journey to answer some of life’s most urgent questions.
In this performance, each moment, each stage, has been artfully measured. Everything is there for a reason that is in turn, justified.
