This week our musicians arrive to create the live score for the production to concretise the multidisciplinary approach to our narrative.

The music will be composed and directed by Byron Wallen who is joined by renowned musicians Louai Alhenawi, Jenny Adejan and Nao Masuda to add the final layer of theatricality to the production.

Sarai is the exploration of the inner life. The miracle of attraction is steeped in self acceptance.
— Paul Anthony Morris, Writer/ Director

This week the Sarai Production welcomed another member of the Creative Team to the rehearsal room - Choreographer Shane Shambhu.

Each day has been spent building movement into the piece to layers of atmosphere to the story. Karlina and Shane explored different ways to visually describe the opulence of Egypt, evoking the senses and enriching the audience's experience.

Victoria Johnstone, our designer worked late into the night at the Osho Gallery to construct elements of the set for Sarai.

Prema Mehta has been working closely with Victoria to ensure the lighting design enhances the range of environments Sarai explores on her epic journey.

Our focus this week in rehearsal has been on establishing the theatricality of our production and looking deeply into the courage and wisdom of this most extraordinary woman as Sarai contends with the formidable forces of famine, disease, civil war and barrenness.

We're looking forward to the arrival of our choreographer Shane Shambhu in Week 3.

All I wanted was some outward manifestation that would make my critics, hang their heads in shame every time they saw me.
